Starting from Sestri Levante city center, Via XXV Aprile, 5 minutes from the railway station, take Vico del Bottone, following directions to Punta Manara.
Take then Salita Mandrella on the left. Passing through olive trees and vegetable gardens, you reach Casa Madrella, where the panoramic stroll starts, with a magnificent view on the right. You reach then Colla Mandrella (113 m). Take the right path at the crossroads, walking through Mediterranean vegetation: olives, oaks, strawberry trees and maritime pines.
Take a break sitting on a bench with panoramic view or have a picnic there. Not far from the starting point, you can find a bivouac shelter, also called “spianata del telegrafo”. The ruins of an ancient sheer watch-tower offer a magnificent view on the coast. Continuing on a steep brick stairway, you find yourself in the middle of a double landscape on Portofino on one side and Riva Trigoso on the other.
Going back, you continue on a path over Riva Trigoso, descending on the right between little villas and cultivated areas, reaching the Ginestra village, then Le Rocche.
Going towards the sea, you end up on the recently renovated trail overlooking the beach, very crowded during the high season.
